"Gruess Gott" is common in the south of Germany (Bayern), you will rarely find it/ hear it in other parts of Germany. But there are other forms like "Moin, moin" in the north.

Ich habe sogar den Tisch abgeräumt/abgewischt Also, where in a sentence do I put adverbs?? immediately behind verbs?? or there're no fixed rules??? German sentence structure is not as fixed as English; but we usually put our adverbs either directly behind the verb (or the auxilliary verb in the above-mentioned cases) or at the beginning of a sentence. You can also say: Gerade habe ich den Tisch abgewischt.
