This page Describes Original Software to Tutor you in German
This site is designed to help everyone learn German. Harold Eddleman has written software to help himself learn German and other subjects. He is making most of those programs available free to the public. Some of the programs are special for a particular page. For example: ger230e.bas goes with lesson ger230e.htm Such programs are listed at the top of the specific lesson page and also on this page. Others are more general or tutor sentences or phrases.
The programs are written in QBASIC which was a part of DOS 5.0 and later DOS. Most of them run on the Original IBM PC and many were written on that machine. Kids can now buy those computers for $5 to $25 complete with disk drives and monitor (try a dealer or computer/ham fest). See my Computer Science site for ideas on using these old machines. While many of my programs run under Dos 3.3, I suggest you install DOS 5.0 on such machines.
All the educational material of each program is in DATA statements at the bottom of the program. I suggest you add your own statements, or remove all my DATA statements and enter your own for studying biology, French, Business Law, etc. I also suggest you modify the main program to learn programming or meet your special needs.
