Using web pages to learn to speak and listen to German
This website does not have any audio files and none are planned. The members of GermanList have come up with the following to help you find German audio on the web. We are looking for more.
Deutsche Welle has an online course at http://www.dwelle.de/radio/marktplatz . There are realaudio streams, so you can listen to conversations. There are also texts of the conversation available.
Deutsche Welle also has a mailing list, The Nachrichten, which is worth subscribing to. I think they post twice a day.
If you want help on using sound for language study, try http://www.travlang.com/languages/soundhelp.html. TravLang has help on many languages.

I found a website that provides german texts as real audio files (you need real audio player to listen to it, get the player at http://www.realaudio.com). Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio are two radio stations broadcasting to all of Germany. They have a very good reputation, send the best news, interviews and some nice classical concerts. The website is in German, some of their programs are available as .ra files.
Try the Verbraucherinfos (=consumer information) or Kakadu -das Kinderradio (children's radio) or Hörspiele (=radio play) http://www.dradio.de/dlrb/index.html
No audio files but text and also interesting: A series called Deutschland von außen (=Germany from abroad) People from different countries report on their image of Germany. http://www.dradio.de/dlrb/signale/index.html
Annother station is called Deutsche Welle http://www.dwelle.de/ They broadcast in 35 languages all over the world. You can hear them with any short wave reciever. They have a radio on demand section too--real audio files all over the place!

I have The Learning Company's software Learn to Speak German. AOL has a way to use their German Online Service. They have chatrooms, news reports, and other things in German.
