Adam Monroe Eddleman was born, reared, and died in Crawford County, Indiana around Milltown and Marengo. He never left Crawford County except for the 3 horrible years he spent serving in the 81st Regiment, Indiana Volunteers during the Civil War. Our family does not know a lot about him because the wives got angry over a cradle and forbid contact between the families. He was known as 'Uncle Ad' to the childern of Isaac Windell Eddleman.

His proven lineage is Adam Monroe Eddleman (Civil War private and farmer) <== James Eddleman (farmer of Milltown IN) <== John Eddleman (miller of Georgetown IN, KY, NC) <== Catherine Eddleman (Her husband may have been David of PA, MD, and NC). See page 800 for his most likely lineage to Alsace Germany.

Because of the fued between the wives and the distant generations, I did not hear much about Adam Monroe Eddleman when I was growing up.
