This is a page of Eddlemon data furnished
by William Rodney Eddleman and others.
We assume these families descend from unknown Edelmann families in Europe.

My name is Charyl Lee Eddlemon West. My Grandfather was Will Eddlemon (notice
the spelling). He raised his famiy in Pearcy Arkansas close to Hot Springs.
He married Betty Weatherford. He was an orphan. I have some info. He may
have come from TN. I have Uncles and Aunts in CA, Texas, and Arizona. I'm
interested in our lineage. I have info. on F.J.G. Eddlemon or Felix James
Grundy Eddlemon, Hardeman County, Tenn. Marriage records July 11, 1852--Dec.
31, 1859. Can't seem to find out who his Father was, everything seems to
stop.

William Rodney (Bill) Eddleman, weddlema@biology.semo.edu, sent the following information:
Charyl would appear to be another descendant of F. J. G. EDDLEMON (I have seen it James Felix Grundy also). If she has not done so, she should contact another researcher on this line, Glenda Hazelett, at ==> glen6741@worldnet.att.net
Felix had a first marriage in Cape Girardeau Co., MO to Margaret DUNN in the 1840s. I have never found whether this marriage ended in Margaret's death or in divorce. I do have a "mystery" Margaret EDDLEMAN who appears in marriage records in Perry Co., MO later.
There is disagreement over Felix's parentage. I have found only one other EDDLEMON couple whose children are unaccounted for in Cape Girardeau/Perry counties at that time period--my GGG-grandfather's brother David and his wife Martha/Patsy (NEEDHAM) EDDLEMAN. David appears on a Cape Girardeau Co. tax list in the late 1830s, but was dead by 1840. Patsy appears on the Perry Co. 1840 census as Martha EDLEMON. She has two sons the correct age to be Felix (the other is believed by many, including me, to be son D. H. EDDLEMON). These two sons are not in Mo. in 1850, but all the other children are in Perry Co. As I recall, Patsy remarried, but died soon thereafter. I have her death date from an old Perry Co. diary. Now, there is no PROOF this is the family of Felix J. G. EDDLEMON. David EDDLEMON did not have an estate settlement, so I assumed he owned no property at the time of his death. I have searched DUNN records for Margaret, but to no avail.
I am willing to send for more possible records on Felix J. G. He received a homestead land grant in Ark. in the 1880s, and I now have some of the land entry file forms from the National Archives. I will send for this file, if no other researchers on this lineage have already done so. I am also going to send for land entry files for my GGG-grandfather, with the vain hope that there might be more information on his parents in the files. (His father was John EDDLEMON of Lincoln Co., NC and Maury Co., TN.)
Hope this helps.

Charyl CCsEnterprise@email.msn.com adds more about JGF
Eddlemon
Concerning James Grundy Felix Eddlemon, He was married to Magaret J.
Dunn, 1842, MO. I don't have any more information on this marriage. In
March 3 1836 (the copy is hard to read) He married Susan F. Adams (B.)
1829 in Va. This is a copy of the Marriage License, from Tennessee, Hardeman
Co. ( the Eddlemon sp.) seems to be on the document. He also married Lucy
Ann Coleman May 25 1869 in Johnson Co. Arkansas. She was born 10,1835,Ala.
deceased 10 Dec. 1842,Buckville,Garland Arkansas. I have a copy of a contract
by a C. A. Eddlemon residing at Bare Post Office, County of Garland State
of Ark. for an Estey Organ. The contract ends with the signing by a C.H.Eddlemon
notice the (C.A.) and (C.H.) must be a an error. I also have a copy a Warranty
Deed, F.J.G.Eddleman to W.H.Smith, this describes the transaction ect.
It is signed November 1895 F.J.G.Eddleman also L.A. Eddleman,I believe
the latter is his wife. I notice the spelling again (Eddleman). Please
be patient with me I am very new at this. I also have updated Descendancy
Chart on James Grundy Felix Eddlemon (1825--1897) these are a few of the
names. Jordan, Couch, Owens, Hignight just to name a few. When I first
began to find info. about the Eddlemon's, Bill Eddleman referred me to
a Glenda Thomason Hazelett in Phoenix Arizona. I thought the name was familiar.
To my surprise the next day, I received an e-mail that said Hi cousin,
How is Uncle Wallace Eddlemon? I was glad to hear from her. I haven't seen
her since I was very young. Most of this info. comes from her and from
an Aunt in California. I must go,I will keep my next info. short. Many
thanks to you and Bill.
