The following pictures were taken over the race weekend of June 2-4, 2000.

Tony Stewart dominated the race, lapping all but the top 6 cars.  There was some drama late where pit strategy and fuel mileage were beginning to come into play, but a late caution when Jeff Gordon hit the wall brought the top cars into the pits eliminating any fuel mileage situations.

Jeff Burton had a very good car in practice and happy hour, consistently running in the top 5.  When the race began, he quickly began picking his way to the front from a 14th qualifying spot, climbing to 7th.  When a caution came out and the leaders pitted, Kenny Irwin stopped short in his pit stall, pinning Burton in.  Burton excruciatingly pulled forward and backward trying to get out of his pit stall.  When he finally returned to the track about 30 seconds later, he had found the strain on the gearbox was too much, and he was stuck in first gear.

He returned to the garage for a transmission change and returned to the track 23 laps down to the leaders.  The rest of the day was just making as many laps as possible, staying out of wrecks, and picking up positions due to attrition.  He finished in 34 position, and dropped from 5th in the points to 6th.
