The following pictures were taken over the race weekend of August 27-28, 1999.

The memorable part of the weekend was the "spin-to-win" by Dale Earnhardt of Terry Labonte on the last lap.

The boo's were so incredibly deafening, lasting 20 minutes after the finish.  There was a mob scene around victory lane, with many near fights breaking out all over.  Randy Pemberton of TNN was next to me and literally was calling Earnhardt every name that could be using his best Sailor's English.....

This was the beginning of the mid-season slump for Jeff Burton.  He plunged from 1st in the points to 7th.
Jeff Burton was completely out to lunch on his qualifying set up and took the first provisional spot, 37th.  He climbed to about 12th during the race, but due to traffic and an untimely pit, got 1 lap down and never recovered.  He was turning lap times equal or better than the leaders near the end of the race.
He finished at the front of 1 lap down, in 17th place.
